Established in 2010, Burnt Bridge Cellars is named after the creek that runs through the heart of the town we call home. We craft compelling wines in small lots from Washington’s best vineyards. And we do it all in our converted 30’s-era auto garage in downtown Vancouver. Burnt Bridge Cellars is named after a creek that runs through the heart of the town we call home. Located in the thriving Uptown Village district of Vancouver, the winery began as an idea in a garage more than six years ago.
Today, the garage is a little bigger, but the detailed, hands-on approach remains. Every wine from Burnt Bridge Cellars is made from hand-picked grapes. Every barrel is crafted from hand-selected oak. Every bottle is hand-filled, hand-corked and hand-labeled. Yes, we know there are easier and faster ways to make wine. But when you love wine as much as we do, we feel it deserves the extra attention. We hope you agree.
“Ultimately there are two kinds of guitars in the world: The ones that you really want to play, and the ones that you neglect. I want to make the ones that people want to play. That’s all I really want out of it.”
– Kenny HIll
For over 40 years Kenny Hill has been exploring the vast possibilities of classical guitar; as a guitar maker, as a player and even as a composer. He is best recognized for guitar making, first as an individual luthier, and over the past decades developing a larger team at Hill Guitar Co., as well as developing the import brand New World Guitar through his ground breaking work in China. He is also a major contributing designer for Cordoba Guitars in their worldwide growth
In 1989, Don and Grace Archer planted a vineyard on the southern slope of Parrett Mountain. At that time, the Oregon wine industry was still young, a little-known collection of wine enthusiasts making a go of it in the Willamette Valley. Grace had grown up on a vineyard in California and saw the potential for producing wine in Yamhill County.
Don Archer, the namesake of Archer Vineyard, lived with his wife on the property he planted for many years.
In 2005, Saj and Pauline Jivanjee purchased the 8-acre property and brought with them a new vision. With the help of family and close friends, they converted the old Archer barn into a cutting-edge winery and tasting room, and set up a business committed to enriching the local community. Today, Archer Vineyard handcrafts a small production of estate-grown Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, and gathers people around creative events that unlock the pleasures of wine—including music, art, and enjoyment of the natural environment.
PGS is a monthly meeting free to the public providing two hours of guitar music. It’s also a nonprofit membership organization providing a place to meet other players, makers, and teachers, and it’s a friendly place to discover and share new tunes, techniques, and styles. We welcome all kinds of music and all skill levels. Meetings start with open mic time and end with a half-hour “Featured Performer” set.
The Portland Guitar Society is dedicated to promoting the guitar and its music through sponsorship of monthly meetings, special performances, and educational and public service activities.
Ankeny Vineyard is located in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley on the southernmost slopes of the Salem Hills. It overlooks the Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge, home to thousands of migratory waterfowl. First planted in wine grapes in 1982, this land has been farmed continuously since the first settlers arrived in 1846.
A combination of gentle slopes and low elevations makes it one of the earliest ripening sites in the valley, resulting in extraordinary Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes. Vineyard owner Joe Olexa turns out small hand-crafted batches of wine to capture the unique character, or terroir, of Ankeny Vineyard.
Located in Wilsonville, the Oregon Guitar Studio offers the highest quality guitar lessons. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned player looking for some new techniques instructor David Tutmark can help you progress as a guitarist and musician.
